Chrysogonum virginianum variety virginianum

Green and Gold is a charming, low growing native with evergreen leaves. The three quarter inch wide yellow flowers open in spring and often continue flowering into early summer. Hardy in zones 5 through 9.

    Plants are grown from seed off stock plants at the nursery. The original plants were grown from seeds collected from a population growing on the edge of a woodland in Bladen County, North Carolina.

    Comments

    The variety we offer (virginianum) is clump forming and does not run. There are two other varieties of Green and Gold that spread by stolons (stems on top of the ground) to form colonies.

    Propagation

    Seed sown in the summer usually germinates in one to two weeks.
