White False Indigo is a tough and long-lived native perennial with an age measured in decades rather than years. In spring, asparagus-like shoots break through the surface of the soil and flower several weeks later.

In central North Carolina, flowering starts between late April and early May and lasts two to three weeks. After flowering, the oblong seed pods swell and turn black when they ripen in early summer.
How to grow
Very easy to grow and establish in a wide variety of soil types; from coarse sand to orange clay. Planting in full sun ensures strong, vigorous growth and lots of flowers.
Care and maintenance
Resilient and carefree, just cut old stems down to the ground anytime during the winter.

White False Indigo looks spectacular in both formal gardens and naturalized areas, meadows and at the edge of the woods.
When to plant
Anytime. Plants actively grow from spring through late summer, and growth slows in the fall.
When will my plant flower?
Plants are flowering size but may take a year to settle into their new home before flowering.

At the edge of dry, sandy woods from North Carolina through northern Florida.
Source and origin
Plants are grown from cuttings at the nursery. The original plants were grown from seeds collected from a population growing close to the Neuse River in Wayne County, North Carolina.

All plants are shipped from our nursery in central North Carolina. We ship orders at the beginning of the week so they don't get held up over the weekend. Orders placed after midnight on Sunday may (especially in spring) be shipped the following week.Are your plants shipped in their containers?
Yes, all our plants are shipped in their growing containers. The dimensions of the containers are 4.5 inches wide by 5 inches deep or 32 fl. oz.What shipping carriers do you use?
UPS Ground and occasionally USPS Priority Mail for some smaller orders.Do you guarantee your plants?
We guarantee our plants to be healthy, ready for planting, and correctly named. We are not able to guarantee whether a plant will grow in your garden as there are too many circumstances that are beyond our control.
On rare occasions, a plant shipped dormant may fail to emerge from its dormancy. If this happens, please let us know.
If you are concerned about a plant, please contact us within 14 days to let us know. If we can’t help you make it grow, we’ll send you a new plant or issue a refund.What about sales tax?
